Use screen branching

Customize respondent journeys based on the answers participants select.

Note: Depending on the screen type, some respondent journey options may not be available:
  • Blank Screens and Statement Screens only allow the respondent journey to be set to End activity.
  • Call To Action screens only allow the respondent journey to be set to Redirect.
  • All other screen types allow either option.
  1. On activity's Build page, in the Respondent Journey area, click Screen Branching.
  2. Set screen branching rules.
    Tip: Use screen branching rules for respondent journeys that represent the minority rather than the majority.
    • For each rule, specify the answer combination that will trigger a behavior.
    • For each rule, specify the respondent journey behavior:
      • Go to a screen

        If you choose this option, select a screen.

      • Add a redirect link

        If you choose this option, type the link participants will be redirected to.

      • End activity
    • Click Add Screen Branch to add a new screen branch.
  3. Specify what will happen to all remaining combinations (the majority of participants):
    • Go to a screen

      If you choose this option, select a screen.

    • Add a redirect link

      If you choose this option, type the link participants will be redirected to.

    • End activity
  4. On the activity toolbar, click Save.
  5. Preview the respondent journey.
    Review the updated logic paths in your activity.
  6. Preview an activity.
    Review your activity from the participant's perspective before you distribute the activity.
